Vaccine shots against COVID-19 will be available 24 hours across the Union Territory's 34 government hospitals from Tuesday for a speedy inoculation drive.

The Delhi government issued an order on Monday asking the 34 hospitals to run one-third of the sites located in them (2 of 6 in each hospital) 24 hours for those who don’t have time to be inoculated in the day.

“Now you can get vaccinated against Covid anytime in Delhi. The eligible people should come forward to get the jab. We will not allow any shortage of facilities in Delhi," Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.

The CM had also written to the Prime Minister seeking relaxation in the rules pertaining to the opening of COVID vaccination centres and removing the age limit on vaccination in view of controlling the virus surge across the country.

Delhi recorded 3,548 infection cases and 15 deaths in the past 24 hrs, taking its COVID tally to 6,79,962 and death toll to 11,096.
