The latest skirmish is an ‘eye-opener’ for those who continuously supporting trade with China. These are the words of the National Co-convenor of the RSS affiliate, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Ashwini Mahajan.

Mahajan, has once again ramped up calls for boycotting Chinese goods, through his Twitter handle. He spoke soon after the killing of three Indian army soldiers, including a Colonel rank officer in Ladakh while facing off with China.

He tweeted, “This is an eye-opener for those who argue that there has been no exchange of fire, so we should engage economically with China, says in trade and investment”. The SJM has also demanded that Indian firms replace "Chinese giants" in the construction of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS project. On Monday, a Chinese company ‘Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co Ltd (STEC)’ has emerged as the lowest bidder for construction of an underground stretch of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) project. The SJM, which has taken a strong anti-China position in the past, has now requested the government to cancel the company’s bid and promote an Indian player instead. The economic wing of the RSS added that trading with China often goes against the very essence of 'Make in India'.

Mahajan also took to Twitter to raise the demand that Tibet be returned to the Tibetans to maintain peace in the region. An Indian Army officer and two soldiers were killed during the confrontation with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Monday night.
