Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has on Wednesday reviewed the reconstructions and development
project of Kedarnath Math. The state government of Uttarakhand undertook all
these works.
During his discussion with the
Uttarakhand CM, Trivendra Singh Rawat, and other government officials via
videoconferencing, PM Modi said that he was committed to the all-around
development of the shrine.
PM, Narendra Modi, said that the state
government should design development projects for holy sites like Kedarnath and
Badrinath in a manner that stands the test of time and is yet eco-friendly and
in harmony with nature and its surroundings. In his Twitter post, Prime
Minister, said, “We have reviewed various aspects relating to the Kedarnath
Reconstruction project. Our priority is on the redevelopment. It all would be
eco-friendly and ensures convenience to pilgrims as well as tourists”.
He said, "In addition, we have also
discussed the ways to develop other heritage centers from Ramban to Kedarnath.
The entire development of the centers like: Brahma Kamal Vatika, were also
discussed. These efforts will deepen our cultural connect and boost tourism”. Keeping
the present situation in mind and the comparatively lean pressure in terms of
tourists and pilgrims to the holy sites, PM Modi suggested that the ongoing
construction works would also be utilized to complete pending works.
“There will be proper distribution of
labor pools, keeping the norms of social distancing in mind. This will help to
create facilities and infrastructure to better sustain tourism flows in the
years to come”, he added.
