US President Donald Trump has named the new ambassador of the US to the 10-nation Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
"Major General Alden Regua (retd) has been named as the US representative to ASEAN countries whose rank will be equivalent to that of an ambassador," White House said in a statement on Tuesday.
The White House mentioned this in its statement that Mr. Regua held important positions in the US Army for 36 years before retiring in 2013.
According to the statement, Mr. Regua is currently working as a vice president in 'Next Step Technology' in Virginia.
