The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to states that violation of the lockdown rules is seriously jeopardizing the health of the people and increasing the risk of spreading COVID-19. This letter has been written by the Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla to the Chief Secretaries of all the States / UTs, that they should strictly implement the guidelines.
The Ministry of Home Affairs told the states that violence against health workers is taking place, social distance rules are being violated as well as there is a movement of vehicles in urban areas. The MHA has stated that the condition of COVID-19 is critical in some places in Indore, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Kolkata and West Bengal.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the government has constituted six inter-ministerial central teams to assess the COVID-19 situation on the spot and issued necessary instructions to the states. The ministry said that inter-ministerial teams would focus on the implementation of lockdown, compliance and supply of essential materials and safety of health workers.
