Telangana records 574 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities until Wednesday night

Telangana's COVID-19 tally climbed to 2,83,556 so far with 574 new Coronavirus infections reported till 2000 hours on Wednesday.


COVID-19 deaths surged to 1,524 so far as two more patients died of the deadly virus in the last 24 hours constituting a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Thursday.


A total of 384 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide between Tuesday and Wednesday taking the total number of recoveries in the state till date to 2,75,217 translating a recovery rate of 97.05 per cent while the National recovery rate was 95.7 per cent.


The state now has 6,815 active cases including 4,487 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.


Of the 44,516 swab samples tested in the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus, the reports of 666 swab samples are awaited.


More than 66.11 lakh COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.


The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the major contributor of


Coronavirus cases by reporting 109 fresh infections followed by Ranga Reddy district (48) and


Medchal Malkajigiri district (42).


The remaining Coronavirus cases of the day were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
