South Indian superstar Rajinikanth turned 70 on Saturday after announcing his debut in politics. Rajinikanth celebrated his birthday very simply with his family members at a farm house located outside the city.
Rajni Makkal Mandram (RMM) celebrated the 70th birthday of the veteran actor in a splendid manner by organizing various programs across the state on the occasion. From midnight, RMM members gathered in front of the actor's residence in Poise Gardens and celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake.
The members of RMM prayed for the actor's healthy life apart from special prayers at various temples and prayed for his success in politics.
RMM members distributed offerings to security personnel stationed outside the actor's home.
Superstars who made people crazy with their strong acting and style in films have now announced their entry into politics after almost three years of brainstorming. Rajinikanth will announce his political party on the occasion of New Year and will also contest Tamil Nadu Assembly elections to be held in April-May next year.
On this occasion, Sun Pictures said that the veteran actor will start shooting for his upcoming film Anathi from December 15.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister EK Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Leader of Opposition MK Stalin, music composer AR Rahman, besides leaders of various political parties and actors from the film world have also greeted Rajinikanth on his birthday.
