Rajasthan Royals captain Steven Smith has been fined Rs 12 lakh for a slow over rate during a match against Mumbai Indians. IPL 13 was played between Rajasthan and Mumbai on Tuesday where Mumbai defeated Rajasthan by a big margin of 57 runs. The IPL committee issued a statement on Wednesday, stating that this was Rajasthan's first mistake in this session, so Smith has been fined Rs 12 lakh under the IPL code of conduct.
Prior to Smith, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined Rs 12-12 lakh against Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals team captain Shreyas Iyer for slow over rate in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
