The latest OTA update for Realme X brings Dark Mode and October 2019 security patch, but users will need to wait until a critical bug has been fixed.
HIGHLIGHTS
Realme started rolling out a new OTA for the Realme X a few days ago. The update brought system-wide Dark Mode and October 2019 security patch. However, Realme found a critical bug in the update and has decided to postpone the release. While some Realme X users may have received the new update, others will only get it after Realme fixes the bug.
The Realme X OTA update version RMX1901EX_11.A.09 was released in a staged rollout with only a limited number of users receiving it on the first day. Realme has temporarily halted the rollout until it fixes the "critical bug" which the company hasn't explicitly defined. There's no word on when Realme will resume the OTA rollout.
As per the changelog, the latest Realme X update brings a system-wide Dark Mode as promised. Realme has already introduced Dark Mode on the Realme 1 and Realme U1, and the company plans to bring the feature to all ColorOS 6 based Realme phones by the end of November.
Additionally, the update for Realme X also brings the October 2019 security patch. The OTA also brings an updated charging animation, added font feature to Theme Store, Realme Laboratory and the ability to enter hidden applications list with fingerprint biometric. The update also brings the ability to swipe down on the home screen to bring up the notification center or global search. Realme has improved the touch experience when gaming as well.
Realme is expected to fix the bug soon so that it can resume the rollout of the update for the Realme X. If you have already updated your Realme X to the latest OTA, Realme will likely issue a separate update to fix the critical bug.
