Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, once again targeted the Narendra Modi government over the killing of Indian soldiers in Ladakh's Galwan valley by Chinese Army, asking “why were our soldiers sent unarmed to martyrdom”.

"How dare China kill our unarmed soldiers? Why were our soldiers sent unarmed to martyrdom", Mr Gandhi tweeted a day after he questioned Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for not naming China in his tweet.

“If it was so painful: 1. Why insult Indian Army by not naming China in your tweet? 2. Why take 2 days to condole? 3. Why address rallies as soldiers were being martyred? 4. Why hide and get the Army blamed by the crony media? 5. Why make paid-media blame the Army instead of the government of India”, Mr Gandhi had tweeted.

A day after the violent clash, the Congress leader had questioned the Prime Minister's silence on the issue.

“Why is the Prime Minister silent? Why is he hiding? Enough is enough. We need to know what has happened. How dare China kill our soldiers? How dare they take our land?”, he had tweeted.
