Over 38.86 cr Covid-19 vaccine doses provided to states: Health Ministry

More than 38.86 crore (38,86,09,790) Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided to states and UTs so far, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday.

 

Of this, the total consumption of vaccine doses including wastages is 37,31,88,834 doses, it added.

 

More than 1.54 Cr (1,54,20,956) balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the states, UTs and private hospitals to be administered, as per the data.

 

In the new phase of the universalization of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to states and UTs.

 

Meanwhile, India recorded 37,154 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country's caseload to 3,08,74,376, while the death toll soared to 4,08,764 with 724 more fatalities, according to the Ministry's data.

 

A total of 37,73,52,501 doses have been administered since January 16 this year, of which 12,35,287 were administered in the past 24 hours, the data showed.
