Petrol and diesel prices remained steady on Wednesday after rising for the second consecutive day. The prices of both fuels were stable on Tuesday after six consecutive days of hike. So far, the price of petrol and diesel has increased 06 times in December. In December, petrol has become expensive by one rupee 37 paise and diesel by one rupee 45 paise.


On Monday, petrol is costlier by 30 to 33 paise and diesel by 25 to 31 paise per liter in four major metros of the country. Diesel in the commercial city of Mumbai is more than Rs 80 per liter and petrol is more than Rs 90 per liter. Petrol in Delhi today reached Rs 83.71 per liter and diesel reached Rs 73.87 per liter. Petrol in the commercial city of Mumbai is Rs 90.34 and diesel is Rs 80.51 per liter. Chennai prices are Rs 86.51 and Rs 79.21 per liter respectively. Petrol price in Kolkata has been increased to Rs 85.19 and diesel to Rs 77.44 per liter.
