  • Moto Razr is coming to India soon.

And it's back. Lenovo sub-brand Motorola launches the 2019 version of the iconic Moto Razr today. The Moto Razr has been subjected to several leaks and rumors in the past and as the leaked pictures showed the Razr looks alluring whether it's folded or unfolded. The new Moto Razr offers a premium design and packs two screens -- one is the main display (when the phone is unfolded) while there's a small screen when the device is folded. The main screen of the Moto Razr has very minimal bezels on the sides.

Motorola launches the Moto Razr at a price of $1500 that roughly translates to Rs 1,08,273. Soon after the global launch, Motorola India confirmed via a teaser that the Moto Razr is coming to the country very soon. The company didn't reveal the launch date of the India launch of the Moto Razr but we expect the phone to hit the market sooner than one can imagine. In India too expect the Moto Razr to be expensive -- possibly more than a lakh. Having said that we believe with the Moto Razr the company is looking to take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy Fold that recently launched in India.

Moto Razr specs

The Moto Razr comes with two screens -- one sits inside while the other one is on the outside. In the inside -- when unfolded -- there's with a flexible OLED display that measures 6.2-inches in size. The screen offers a 21:9 CinemaVision aspect ratio similar to some of the previously launched Motorola smartphones. On the outside -- when the phone is folded -- there's a 2.7-inch OLED display that offers an aspect ratio of 4:3. The Moto Razr also includes a fingerprint sensor on the bottom.

Unlike the recently launched foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X, the Moto Razr looks like one of those old iconic clamshell Razr phones when folded. When folded the Moto Razr completely shuts down and users can't use the phone whatsoever. So, to operate the Moto Razr has to be unfolded like a flip phone.

The Moto Razr lets users perform all kinds of activities -- makes calls, send messages or emails -- when unfolded -- but when it is folded there are some limitations. When folded the Moto Razr only lets users check notifications on the "Quick View" display. Notably, to respond to notifications the users will need to unfold the Razr unlike the Galaxy Fold from Samsung.

The Quick View display on the outside of the Moto Razr includes a 16MP camera that lets users click selfies when the phone is folded. The 16MP camera comes with several camera features like EIS, Night Vision mode, and more. The same 16MP camera turns into a rear camera when the phone is unfolded. The phone includes one more 5MP camera inside - when unfolded.

The Moto Razr is powered by Snapdragon 710 processor -- yes, this flip phone isn't using a flagship processor - paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The Moto Razr packs a 2510mAh battery paired with 15W quick charging support. On the software front the Razr runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.
