More than 10 crore doses of the vaccine 'Sputnik V' of the corona virus Covid-19, developed in Russia, will be produced in India and it is expected to start production from January next year.

The agreement has been signed between Russia Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Hereto Biopharma. Heroto director B Murali Krishna Reddy said on Friday, “We are happy to partner with RDIF to manufacture the much anticipated Sputnik V vaccine for the treatment of Kovid-19. We are awaiting the results of the ongoing clinical trial of the vaccine in India and we believe that the preparation of the vaccine locally makes it easier for patients to access. ”

Significantly, RDIF announced the results of the third phase of human trials of the Sputnik V vaccine in Russia on 24 November. The test was conducted at 40,000 volunteers and the vaccine results were positive. Sputnik V is being tested in second and third human trials in India. In addition, a third phase of human vaccine trials are being conducted in Venezuela, Belarus and the United Arab Emirates.

So far this month, the Gamalay Research Institute, which has developed pharmaceutical companies Pfizer, Mordana, AstraZeneca and Sputnik V, has released a third phase human trial report of its respective Corona vaccine.
