Expressing concern on the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers during violent clashes with Chinese troops in the Galwan valley of Ladakh, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Wednesday said that the people believe that the Union government would take the right decision at the right time and would not allow anyone to take away even an inch of land.
In a tweet, Ms. Mayawati said, "The news of the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers in violent clashes with China in Ladakh is extremely sad and shocking, especially when the Indian government is trying to resolve the border dispute and tensions between both the countries. The government now needs to take steps in the interest of the country with the utmost vigilance and understanding."
She added, "The country believes that the Government of India will take the right decision at the right time in view of the pride and glory of the nation and will not allow anyone to take away even an inch of land. Forgetting the shortcomings of the government, it is good that the entire country is united during such a delicate time. Now, the government has to live up to the expectations of the people."
