The
Noida Police has on Wednesday evening arrested a 45-Year-Old man for allegedly
raping his 13 year old daughter in Noida city of Uttar Pradesh.
A senior police officer said, “The
perpetrator, who is a laborer hailing from Bihar, often got drunk and forced
himself upon his 13-year-old daughter”. The man, a labourer hailing from Bihar,
would often get drunk and force himself upon his 13-year-old daughter, a senior
police official said.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women
Safety), Vrinda Shukla, while talking to the Observer Dawn on Thursday said, “Entire
incident came into notice on July 24, only after the perpetrator’s wife, who is
a housewife, filed a complaint at the Phase 2 police station of Noida”. She
added, “The woman alleged in her complaint that her husband would rape their
daughter after consuming alcohol but the fear of public shame and disrepute to
the family kept her from approaching the police initially”.
“Soon after the complaint was filed, the
local police probed into the matter and lodged an FIR lodged in this
connection. The culprit was however, arrested on Wednesday evening”, the DCP
said.
When asked, a senior police officer said,
“The culprit has been booked under section 378 of the IPC (rape) as well as the
Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012”. He added that
further proceedings were on.
