The Nashik plant of auto major Mahindra and Mahindra has achieved a feat by manufacturing 25 lakh vehicles.
Scorpio, the company's most popular sports utility vehicle, became the 25 millionth vehicle on Monday.
The officials and employees of the company celebrated the record.
On this occasion, Vijay Kalra, Product head at M&M Automotive division, K G Shenoy, Pradeep Deshmukh and Kamlakar Ghondge were present.
Mr Kalra said, “Achieving this milestone is one of the most important moments in our journey in the automotive sector. …This project has consistently achieved outstanding product excellence. Our rise demonstrates the project's motivation and commitment to maintaining no bounds in maintaining this thinking.”
The plant currently manufactures various Mahindra products including Scorpio, Marazzo, XUV300, Bolero, e-Verito, ambulance.
So far, this plant has been recipient of many awards like Future Ready Factory Award, Consistency Award, Vasundhara Award, Platinum Award for Healthy Workplace, Manufacturing Excellence and Excellence Award.
This plant also plays a vital role in the community through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, which include AIDS awareness and rehabilitation, development of rural players, responsibility for Thalassemia patients with blood donation, massive plantation as well as check dams and village support programmes.
Today, 700 vehicles are manufactured daily in the assembly line and these vehicles are exported to more than 34 countries worldwide.
