All
the passenger trains, bookings for which were started on May 12, have been
cancelled till June 30, 2020.
However, the Indian Railways has said, it will refund all passengers, who had booked tickets on these trains. “All the tickets booked for trains for the period up to June 30, 2020, has been cancelled and full refund would be made in the passengers’ account, as per provisions”, the Railways said in an order on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the Railways announced that all the tickets booked for travel before June 30 in regular passenger services, including Mail/ Express, passenger and suburban services will be cancelled till further advice.
Meanwhile, the Shramik trains meant to
ferry the migrant workers from various states of the country due to the
COVID-19 outbreak, will run as the schedule. The special train services,
started from May 12, will also continue to operate. The Railways has also
announced that there shall be no Reservation against Cancellation (RAC) in
special trains.
They also said that waiting list tickets
for special trains will be available for bookings opening on May 15 for
journeys starting from May 22. The waiting list on the trains has been limited
up to 100 for AC 3 Tier, 50 for AC 2 Tier, 200 for Sleeper Class, 100 for Chair
Cars and 20 each for First AC and Executive Class, the officials said.
