High level meeting held late at night, farmers' movement continues

Concerned over the ongoing farmers 'agitation in the national capital, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar met late last night, while farmers' organizations held talks with the government. Has refused to accept any condition.
Mr. Nadda, Mr. Shah and Mr. Tomar talked late at night about the farmers' strategy but no official information could be available. Mr. Shah had proposed to the peasant leaders to end the road jam and come to Burari Maidan and agitate in a democratic manner and said that with the implementation of this system, talks will be held with the farmers on the very next day.
Farmer leader Yogendra Yadav has said that the farmers' organizations are not ready to accept any condition of the government for talks. There was a meeting of farmers' organizations in which more than 20 farmers' organizations of Punjab insisted on talks at the movement site itself. .
Mr. Tomar has said that the government wants to negotiate with farmers with an open mind and agrarian reform laws have nothing to do with the minimum support price (MSP) of agricultural products. The government has already invited farmers' organizations for talks on December 3.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in the Mann Ki Baat program that farmers have got new rights and opportunities through agricultural reform laws. Parliament has passed agrarian reform laws after considerable deliberations. These reforms have ended many bonds of farmers.
The government has had two rounds of negotiations with farmers' organizations in the past, but no result was achieved. Farmers' organizations have been demanding the abolition of three agrarian reform laws enacted in the past, giving legal status to MSP, withdrawal of cases registered on agitating farmers and many more.
Farmers' organizations are lying on the border of Delhi with many major routes closed for the last four days and a large number of vehicles stranded. Some farmers organizations want to come to the capital's Ramlila Maidan or Jantar Mantar to agitate.
Farmers' organizations have brought ration water with them and are preparing for a long agitation.
Meanwhile, the Khap Panchayats of Haryana have decided to support the farmers' movement and march to Delhi today. This decision was taken in the meeting of Khap Panchayats yesterday.
