In Modinagar, Ghaziabad, the policemen who colluded with liquor smugglers once again came to the fore. The liquor smuggler, who was arrested by the police, busted the connivance of several policemen of the police station with senior officers of the department.

On getting the information of the case, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani has directed six police personnel including a Senior Sub Inspector (SSI) to suspend and conduct a departmental inquiry against them.

According to the information, the police had arrested a liquor mafia in the past. During interrogation, he had told that the liquor smuggling business in the area is done with the help of some policemen stationed at Modi Nagar police station. The police station kept suppressing this matter for several days, but the arrested liquor mafia remained adamant.

At the same time, recently the SP countryside had also warned the SSI about this. Despite this, the smuggler was openly selling liquor at the behest of its police personnel. When it was secretly investigated, after the preliminary investigation confirmed the nexus between the Kotwali police and the liquor smuggler, the SSP has suspended six police personnel, including Kotwali's SSI.

Apart from this, orders have also been given to conduct a high level investigation in the case. SP Dehat Neeraj Jadoun said that after the SSP order, six personnel have been moved to the line.
