Former Indian team batsman Suresh Raina was detained near Mumbai Airport for violating Corona guidelines but was later released on bail.

Police raided a Mumbai club where 34 people, including Raina and singer Guru Randhawa, were detained on charges of corona violation. A senior official of the Sahar police station said that Raina and Randhawa were among those detained for violating Kovid rules. However, the accused were later released on bail.

The Mumbai police said 34 accused, including Raina, were detained under sections 188, 269 of the Indian Penal Code and the Pandemic Act. These people were arrested at the Dragonfly pub, where Corona guidelines were violated.

It is noteworthy that on Monday, the Maharashtra government decided to impose curfew at night to curb the impact of Corona. In view of the new year, the state government has imposed several restrictions in Mumbai from December 22 to January 5.

Meanwhile, Raina's team management issued a statement saying, "Raina went to Mumbai in connection with a shoot that went on till late in the night. After this a friend of his invited him to dinner. Raina was not aware of the local time and protocol. "

The management said, "On getting to know about this, he immediately regretted the mistake made inadvertently. Raina always follows the rules and laws made by the government and will continue to do so in future as well. ”

Raina retired from international cricket on 15 August this year. Raina was included in the possible 26 members of the Uttar Pradesh team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 cricket competition on Monday.

Left-handed batsman Raina retired on 15 August and after that he reached Dubai with his IPL team Chennai Super Kings on 20 August. Raina stayed in Dubai for a few days but returned home citing personal reasons and did not play in the IPL this time.
