The pace of corona infection in the country has been steadily slowing down and for the second time in the last one week, about 16 thousand new cases have come and the rate of those who beat this epidemic is going on.
According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, 16,504 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours due to which the total number of infected people has crossed one crore three lakh 40 thousand. Earlier, on December 29, 16,432 cases were reported.
Due to the recovery of 19,557 patients in the last 24 hours, the number of chronically deprived people increased to 99.46 lakh and the recovery rate increased to 96.19 percent. The number of active cases declined by 3267 to 2.43 lakh and the rate was 2.36 percent. With the death of 214 patients in the same period, the death toll has risen to 1,49,649 and the death rate is still 1.45 percent.
In the last 24 hours in Kerala, the number of active cases has come down by 93 and the number is 65,467. The number of dead in the state is 3141 and the number of people who have been coronated has reached 7.07 lakh.
Maharashtra has the highest increase in active cases by 1183, taking their number to 55,471. At the same time, 18.36 lakh people have got rid of this infection while the death toll of 35 more patients has increased to 49,666.
In the national capital Delhi, there is a continuous decrease in active cases and now their number has come down to 5044. On the second day also 14 more patients have died, due to which the number of dead has increased to 10,585. More than 6.11 lakh patients have been coronated in Delhi.
In the southern state of Karnataka, the number of active cases of corona has increased from 59 to 10,912. The death toll in the state has gone up to 12,107 and so far, 8.98 lakh patients have been cured. In Andhra Pradesh, the number of active cases declined to 3070 during this period. So far 7115 people have died due to corona in the state and more than 8.72 lakh people have become infection free.
According to the population, in the country's largest state Uttar Pradesh, the number of active cases in the last 24 hours has reduced by 458 to 12,858. 8403 people have died due to this epidemic and so far more than 5.66 lakh patients have recovered.
The number of active cases in Tamil Nadu has come down to 8127 and so far 12,156 people have died. So far, over eight lakh people in the state have been transition free.
In Odisha, the number of active cases has come down to 2217, while about 3.26 lakh people have got rid of this infection while the number of dead has reached 1883. In Telangana, active cases of corona have reduced by 282 to 5106 and 1551 people have died while more than 2.81 lakh people have recovered from the epidemic.
In West Bengal, active cases of corona have reduced by 562 to 10,446 and 9792 people have died. So far, more than 5.34 lakh people have recovered in the state. There are 3361 active cases in Punjab and the number of people who have got infection has increased to more than 1.58 lakhs while 5376 people have died so far.
In Madhya Pradesh, the number of active cases has been reduced to 8852 and so far more than 2.31 lakh people have become healthy while 3641 people have died due to this disease. The number of active cases in Chhattisgarh has reduced by 537 to 9980. 2.68 lakh people have been coronated in the state, while 14 more patients have died and the number of dead has reached 3400.
There are 9250 active cases in Gujarat and 4318 people have died and more than 2.33 lakh people have also recovered from this disease. In Bihar, the number of active cases has reduced by 319 to 4473. In the state, 1405 people have died due to corona while more than 2.46 lakh people have become infection free.
