Four disgruntled MLAs have held a meeting with the party's national president JP Nadda amid the ongoing deadlock in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura. BJP leaders met Mr. Nadda at the BJP headquarters here on Tuesday night.
Apart from senior BJP and RSS leaders in Tripura, 25 BJP MLAs including two ministers of the state have opened a front against Chief Minister Viplav Kumar Dev. All this has intensified the demand for his removal by accusing Mr. Dev of having autocratic and vengeful attitude in administration in the party and government.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Sushant Chaudhary said that during his meeting with Mr. Nadda, he was accompanied by BJP leaders and MLAs Ramprasad Pal, Ashish Saha and Parimal Devvarma. The meeting lasted for an hour with Mr. Nadda and he was briefed about the current state of BJP in the state and the functioning of the government.
Mr. Chaudhary said, “We have not demanded to remove anyone from any post. We want nothing more than pro-people rule to strengthen the party, ensure a stable government and reduce public resentment against the government. Shri Nadda ji and two other top leaders of the party patiently listened to us and also appreciated our concern for the party. ”
