Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday exhorted the youth to contribute their bit and make India the 'Golden Bird' again.
Mr Pradhan made remarks while addressing a gathering organised by BJP's youth wing to highlight key points of the Union Budget.
He urged Delhi BJP leaders to hold discussions over the provisions of Budget with various sections of the society, including slum dwellers, street vendors and resident welfare associations, and try to know their expectations and what they think were the loopholes in the financial statement.
Following sabka sath sabka vikas (everyone's support, every one's development) mantra, the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi empowered the farmers and workers, he said.
The Minister noted that the Union Budget was brought at a difficult time by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 'didi' (Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman) at a time when the economy was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment, less income and more expenditure, health, social problems and various issues were staring at the country. Just imagine what problems the finance Minister would have faced, he said.
He termed Ms Sitharaman as Laxmi and said that the allocation for the health sector has been increased by 137 per cent as compared to last year, of which 35000 core rupees have been kept for vaccines.
'We have been helping several countries with the corona vaccine which is in line with the philosophy of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam," said the minister.
To keep economy moving, expenditure should be done through banks, government companies. The money we spend all contribute to economy. To help, the government did not impose any tax but redesigned the income for which emphasis was laid on financial institutions and infrastructure. More money to banks was given so that they can give loans.
When Railway road and airport will be made, employment will increase. He mentioned about circular economy too.
Though the Prime Minister was mocked at by opposition when he gave the slogan of 'jaan hai toh jahan hai and then jaan bhi jahaan bhi' (life and livelihood), countries which cared more for livelihood than life, the phenomena worked temporarily but they are now lagging behind. The US is still facing the crisis. Europe is facing the second wave of the virus but India contained the contagion and not only made vaccine but is supplying to other countries in the world which in turn are grateful to our country.
