World's number four player Denil Medvedev of Russia won the title of ATP World Tour Finals, the last tennis tournament of the year, after beating world number three Dominic Thiem of Austria.

Medvedev won the title of ATP Nito Finals for the first time by defeating Thiem 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4 in this title match which lasted two hours and 43 minutes. Medvedev fell behind in the first set at the hands of Thiem but he rebounded brilliantly and won the next two sets.

Medvedev made it to the finals by defeating world number two player Rafael Nadal of Spain and US Open champion Thiem in the semi-finals, beating world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia.

Medvedev defeated Thiem in Montreal the only last year. The last match between the two was in this year's US Open in which Thiem won but Medvedev won the title match in revenge of the previous defeat.
