The national capital on Sunday registered 4,906 new cases of COVID 19, the state health bulletin said here.

With these new cases the city's nCoV case tally has now surged to 5,66,648, the data said.

However, the city also recorded 6,325 from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the city so far to 5,22,491, the bulletin said, adding that the city's recovery rate currently stands at 92.20 per cent.

The bulletin said that with the rate of recoveries being higher than the new cases in the past 24 hours, it has resulted in reducing the active case load on the city by 1,487 since Saturday, and the capital presently houses 35,091 active nCoV cases.

During the same period 68 more people lost their lives to the virus, taking the city's pandemic fatality count till date to 9,066.

Death rate based on the past ten days data is currently 1.83 per cent , the bulletin said.

Patients currently under home isolation in the city are 21,337, while the number of contatinment zones as on Sunday stood at 5,441, the bulletin added.

A total of 64,186 COVID tests were conducted in the city during the past 24 hours.
