The
Congress Party General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, alleged the Yogi
Adityanath government over its poor handling of COVID-19 crisis in the state.
“It all is happening at a time when there
is an explosive growth in COVID -19 cases, The Government’s ‘no test is equal
to no corona’ policy can lead to a grim situation", Vadra added.
“The battle against the pandemic cannot be fought by just "managing publicity and news”, the Congress Gen Secretary said in a letter to the UP, Chief Minister. Detailing that almost 2,500 cases of coronavirus were reported in UP on till late Friday, Vadra said almost all the metros were flooded with COVID-19 cases, but now even the villages were not far behind in the spread. She said, "Quarantine centres in UP are in a pathetic state. In some places, the situation is so bad, that people fear mismanagement more than the coronavirus. Because of such a scenario, they are not stepping out of their homes for getting tested. It may be termed as big failure of the government”. There is an explosive rise in COVID-19 cases. Till testing will not be increased in a transparent manner, the fight against the pandemic will be incomplete and the situation can become more frightening.
Priyanka Gandhi said, “PM, Narendra Modi,
is Parliamentarian from Varanasi, the Defense Minister from Lucknow, many other
Union Ministers are from UP. Why temporary hospitals are not being established
in Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra etc”. As of now, the COVID-19 has claimed over 50
people lives in the state. More than 2,667 people are infected from this deadly
virus, she said.
