Cold day alert in Uttar Pradesh

Meteorological Department has issued a cold day alert in Uttar Pradesh, which is under the grip of severe cold and fog.

The Meteorological Department has warned that Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Aligarh, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Hardoi, Gonda, Basti, Santakbirnagar, Gorakhpur, Kanpur and surrounding areas Cold weather conditions will continue for at least the next 72 hours, while cold wave conditions are expected to increase in the areas around Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Kanpur and Sonbhadra.

During this time, with the decrease in temperature, there will be cold wintry winds. Particularly pregnant women, elderly and people suffering from serious illness have been advised to refrain from getting out of the house and if necessary, cover the head, feet, throat and nose and get out. Always keep a light but warm veneer during this time.

The alert issued by the department states that during this period Shahjahanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Aligarh, Agra, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Hardoi , Balrampur, Gonda, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Santakbirnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria Kanpur Nagar and Barabanki are expected to witness dense fog.
