Centre amends lockdown norms to resume domestic air travel for stranded

With an aim to facilitate air travel for stranded people in the country, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday amended the guidelines on lockdown 4.0.

Detailed guidelines for operation of airports and air travel of passengers would be issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Thursday, the MHA said.

In MHA order issued on May 20, in para 2 (i), ‘domestic air travel of passengers' in the guidelines issued on May 17 for the lockdown 4, has been deleted from the list of prohibited activities.

Detailed guidelines for the operation of airports and air travel of passengers will be issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the MHA added.

The Union Home Secretary, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 10(2)(l) of the Disaster Management Act, and as Chairperson of the National Executive Committee, ordered the amendment in the guidelines on lockdown measures., it added
