COVID Care Center in Andhra Gets 'Oxygen on Wheels’ by Indian Navy

The Indian Navy had on May 25, 2021 provided 'Oxygen on Wheels' plant to Palasa COVID Care Centre at Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh

Srikakulam Deputy Commissioner, J Niwas, had recently appealed the Indian Navy in this regard. Properly designed by the Naval Dockyard, the ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ was actually unveiled at the Palasa Covid Care Centre in presence of Seediri Appalaraju, the Minister of Animal Husbandry. Besides others the Indian Naval team and the district Sub Collector, Suraj Ganore, were also present in the occasion. It must be noted that the 'Oxygen on Wheels' has been connected from the Oxygen pipeline in the Covid Health Care Centre at Palasa. This is a unique step took up by the Naval Dockyard in which a PSA Oxygen Plant has been added to a mobile platform for serving in inaccessible areas. It was officials unveiled by the Vice Admiral, AB Singh, who is also the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, on May 20, 2021 at Visakhapatnam.

The Southern Command of Indian Navy had on May 14, 2021 deployed five teams to carry fire safety audit of sections of health centers across the Ernakulam district of Kerela. It all happened on the request of the Kerela chief secretary. Soon after the initial assessment of the hospitals where these audits had to be undertaken, additional 22 teams were deputed to undertake audit of the hospitals in the various other districts of Kerala. The authorities however audited almost 101 out of 140 hospitals and other institutions that were engaged in handling COVID-19 cases. The INS Zamorin and Indian Naval Academy teams at Ezhimala were deputed to conduct the audit of hospitals located in Kasaragod, Kannur and Kozhikode districts and the teams from INS Agrani, at Coimbatore were deputed for audit of hospitals in Palakkad.
