Boiled over the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal’s ill-statement against the BJP leader, Manoj Tiwari, the BJP’s Purvanchal Morcha activists have launched a massive protest outside Kejriwal’s residence on Thursday.

The Delhi police have however detained protestors shouting against the Delhi Chief Minister.

The Delhi CM had on Wednesday remarked, “If NRC is implemented in Delhi then Manoj Tiwari will be the first one, who will have to leave Delhi”.

On Thursday, the saffron brigades were witnessed climbing up barricades, waving BJP flags and shouting slogans against Kejriwal. The local police however tried to disrupt the protest using water cannons.

“Kejriwal’s remarks have exposed his real face. The AAP Chief actually wanted to evict the migrants, especially the Purvanchalis”, said the Bhojpuri singer-turned-politician, Manoj Tiwari.

People coming from the eastern parts of the country like: Bihar and east Uttar Pradesh are termed as 'Purvanchalis'. They play an important role in any election in Delhi.

Tiwari has on several occasions demanded that NRC should be implemented in the national capital on the lines of Assam.

“The situation in Delhi had become "dangerous" due to the presence of a "large number" of illegal immigrants including Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, who have been found involved in "criminal activities", Manoj Tiwari had said in a media statement last month.
