US President Donald Trump has committed a 'systematic' transfer of power, a day after a loud uproar in Capitol Hill (Parliament House) by his supporters.
The BBC reported that Mr Trump made this commitment by tweeting on Thursday. He called the rioters' attack a 'heinous attack'. The outgoing president tweeted this after top Democratic leaders demanded that he be removed from office. He has only 13 days left to resign from his presidency. This is the first time Mr. Trump has publicly acknowledged his defeat in last November's presidential election, even as he continues to claim that his electoral defeat was a result of the rigging of his opponents. Mr. Trump returned to Twitter on Thursday evening after freezing his Twitter account for 12 hours. The company had said that their tweet could be a threat of more violence. In the new video message, he said, "Now the Congress has certified the results and a new administration will be inaugurated on January 20."
