In Bihar, 46.29 percent voters exercised their franchise in the first phase of 71 seats till 3 pm in the first phase, while voting has ended in four Naxalite affected seats.
According to the State Election Office, the polling for these 71 seats in 16 districts has polled 46.29 percent till 3 pm. During this period, Lakhisarai district recorded the highest turnout of 49.84 per cent, while Sheikhpura district recorded the lowest 41.67 per cent.
Voting was scheduled from 7 am to 3 pm in Naxal-affected Chainpur in Kaimur district and Navinagar, Kutumba and Rafiganj assembly constituencies in Aurangabad district for security reasons. At the end of voting, 54 percent votes were cast in Chanpur, 52-52 percent in Nabinagar and Kutumba and 50 percent in Rafiganj.
In this way, 45.51 percent in Bhagalpur district, 47.44 in Banka, 41.93 in Munger, 49.84 in Lakhisarai, 41.67 in Sheikhpura, 45.77 in Patna, 43.08 in Bhojpur, 48.91 in Buxar, 49.26 in Kaimur, 43.79 in Rohtas, 42.43 in Arwal, Jehanabad. 44.21, 48.59 in Aurangabad, 48.14 in Gaya and 45.70 in Nawada and 49.79 percent voters in Jamui district exercised their franchise.
