The
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, on Thursday flagged off the Delhi-Katra Vande
Bharat Express from the New Delhi Railway Station. He said that this express
train for the masses and will play a vital role in all around development of
the Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah
uttered ‘Vande Bharat would promote religious tourism across the Valleys,
saying that Article 370 was the “biggest roadblock” in the state’s development.
“Within the next 10 years, the J&K will be one of the most developed
regions of the country”, he added.
Meanwhile,
Shah recalled the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his 150th
anniversary, and said that Bapu had given a philosophy of how to derive simple
solutions to the biggest of problems. Not only had in India, even Babpu’s
philosophy was realized all over the world.
One
such philosophy during the freedom movement was ‘Swadeshi’. The railways
however, played an integral part in Gandhiji’s struggle for freedom by forming
‘a connect with the people of India’, Shah added.
Shah
expressed pride in saying that this ‘Vande Bharat’ express is totally
‘Swadeshi’ and is at par with the latest rail transport technology across the
world. This train is a big tribute that Shri Modi has given to the ideals of
Bapu, with his vision of ‘Make in India’, he added.
Further,
Shah appealed the Railway Minister to chart out the role of Railways in
Gandhiji’s journey during the freedom struggle.
